What we say

The label claims that COTTEE'S Orange Crush Fruit Juice Cordial is 25% fruit juice, but in reality when it's diluted according to the manufacturer's directions it's only 5% fruit juice.

Don't be fooled by the marketing hype about the fruit juice content. After water, sugar is the second biggest ingredient in COTTEE'S Orange Crush Fruit Juice Cordial . Next comes concentrated orange juice. So there's more added sugar in COTTEE'S Orange Crush Fruit Juice Cordial than there is orange juice. A 250ml glass of COTTEE'S Orange Crush Fruit Juice Cordial provides more than 21% of the amount of sugar that an eight-year-old should reasonably consume each day.

By diluting it even more than the instructions suggest you can reduce the amount of sugar in a serve of the cordial –– or use COTTEE'S NO Added Sugar version as an alternative –– but that still won't make it a drink kids should be having every day. Plain water is the healthiest way to quench a child's thirst.

Additives listed: Citric acid (330), Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (466), Sodium benzoate (211), Sodium metabisulphite (223), Carmine (120).
