What we say
DAIRY FARMERS use a classic marketing tactic to promote their Kids Selection Custard Trio to children - the old movie tie in. Most parents would be familiar with the friendly green ogre Shrek, not to mention most kids. Just in time for the release of the latest Shrek installment, Shrek the Third, DAIRY FARMERS Kids Selection Custard Trio packages feature pictures of their favourite Shrek characters, a Shrek sticker, find-a-word and colouring-in activities as will as instructions on how to create Shrek's forest. What kid wouldn't love all that!
But what about the custard? Well it's low in total fat and saturated fat and at 12% sugar it's lower in sugar than some yoghurts. It also contains around 17% of an 8-year-olds recommended daily intake of calcium. They're still not something kids should be having everyday but are a healthier choice than some other desserts. If Shrek's appeal make them popular at your place try pouring them over some chopped banana, strawberries or apple for a more nutritious and more filling snack or dessert.
Additives listed: thickener (1442), mineral salt (340), colour (160b).
