What we say
Like most fruit juice, GOLDEN CIRCLE Orange Juice is high in sugar. All the sugar comes from reconstituted orange juice, but sugar provides kilojoules, no matter where it comes from.
The label claims that 200ml of GOLDEN CIRCLE Orange Juice is equivalent to one and a half pieces of fruit but this is stretching the truth. Your child may get the sugar and vitamin C of the oranges, but none of the fibre. Fibre is important for helping little bellies feel full and for keeping kids regular.
Water is the healthiest drink to quench kids' thirst but if you want to give your child some juice, dilute it with at least 50% water. Nutritionally, orange juice is no match for the real thing so give them fresh oranges instead.
Additives listed: Vitamin C (300).
