What we say
Health experts say we should all be eating two serves of fruit each day. ONE FRUIT TWO FRUIT Pineapple, Lime & Banana claims to be “Your two serves of fruit daily!” The ingredients list suggests that it is nothing but fruit – though mostly pear and apple.
But with only around 1g of fibre in each 150ml pouch ONE FRUIT TWO FRUIT Pineapple, Lime & Banana is a poor substitute for a couple of pieces of the real thing. If your child ate an apple and a pear each day they’d be getting around 7g of fibre – more than a third of the minimum amount recommended for an 8-year-old.
ONE FRUIT TWO FRUIT Pineapple, Lime & Banana is more like a fruit juice – a high sugar drink that lacks the real goodness of fresh fruit. It’s squishy pack might make it a novel treat but don’t rely on it to provide your child’s fruit intake for the day.
Additives listed: none.
