What we say
PLAY Sports Water - Raspberry has added calcium and fluoride, and is sweetened by the sugar from apple, lemon and grape fruit juices (but no raspberry!).
If your child has a balanced diet then they should already be getting enough calcium. Adding flouride to bottled water is a good idea, as recent research has shown an increase in dental problems in kids, believed to be due in part to the popularity of bottled water and the fact kids don't drink as much fluoridated water from the tap.
Active children should definitely be encouraged to drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. But unless your offspring is a fledgling elite athlete, special sports drinks for kids are unnecessary - drinking plenty of water will keep them hydrated. Our verdict - stick to water from the tap. Your kids and your wallet will thank you.
Additives: Calcium lactate (327), Food Acid (330), Preservatives (211,223), sodium fluoride.
