What we say
POPPER JUICE Apple and Blackcurrant Juice is high in sugar. It's 99.9% reconstituted apple and blackcurrant juice, so all the sugar is coming from fruit. But sugar is high in kilojoules no matter where it comes from.
The smaller 125ml serving means you can still give your kids a little bit of fruit juice without overloading them with sugar. One 125ml box of POPPER JUICE Apple and Blackcurrant Juice provides around 14% of the amount of sugar that a child should reasonable consume in one day.
Small fruit juice poppers are OK a few times a week and a better choice than a larger fruit juice portion. Other juice boxes are around 200ml or 250ml so the more juice your child drinks the more sugar they are consuming.
Water is still the healthiest way to quench their thirst. And when it comes to the vitamins, minerals and fibre that fruit provides, fruit juice is not match for a piece of the real thing.
Additives listed: Food acid (296), Vitamin C (300).
