What we say
It’s been around forever, and until earlier this year the ads used to claim that the blackcurrants in RIBENA Blackcurrant fruit drink contained four times the vitamin C of oranges.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that RIBENA Blackcurrant fruit drink is a healthy drink to put in your kid’s lunchbox — especially if you had it when you were a kid and your Mum said it was good for you. But the major ingredients in RIBENA Blackcurrant fruit drink are water and sugar. Blackcurrant juice comes a very poor third at only 5.8%.
Just like other fruit drinks RIBENA Blackcurrant fruit drink is too sugary to give kids every day. A drink of water will quench their thirst and a fresh orange will give them a good dose of vitamin C.
