What we say
Rice crackers have attracted a healthy image, particularly as some of them claim to be low fat. These SAKATA Classic BBQ rice crackers might be low in saturated fat, but with 7.3% total fat they're not a low fat product. They're also high in sodium (salt).
If you're looking for a healthier lunchbox cracker to serve with cheese or hummus, the SAKATA Plain rice crackers are a low-fat, lower salt option compared to the Classic BBQ variety.
It pays to look at the label when choosing a rice cracker as not all rice crackers are created equal...or healthy. And ARNOTT'S Jatz Light, a wheat-based cracker, have less fat than SAKATA Classic BBQ rice cracker, though they also have slightly more salt.
Additives listed: Flavour enhancers (621, 635), Food acids (262, 330), Anti-caking agent (551).
