What we say
The figures above are based on a SIPAHH Straw with 250mL (a cup) of reduced fat (1.4%) milk. The nutrition information is the same for all SIPAHH flavour varieties.
'Dip a Sipahh into a glass of cold milk, sip and say... Ahh!' reads the label of these milk flavouring straws. It's a novel way to flavour milk. And with McDonald's including them in one of their Happy Meals, they're getting a lot of exposure.
Nutritionally speaking, they add little to the milk - each straw contains less than half a teaspoon of sugar, and they provide fewer kilojoules than Milo, for example, and no fat. But they make the milk taste extremely sweet - thanks in part to the added artificial sweetener, sucralose. And using the straws frequently could give your kids a preference for drinking sweet milk rather than regular milk, which isn't ideal. So they're best kept for treats.
