What we say
YOPLAIT Original Yoghurt Strawberry has a moderate amout of total fat and saturated fat, but you'd expect that from a product that has milk as it's biggest ingredient. It's also high in sugar. Milk contains the sugar lactose but sugar is also third on the ingredients list so much of 15.1% sugar in YOPLAIT Original Yoghurt Strawberry. There is only 5% strawberry which is the minimum amount that food laws require of fruit yoghurts.
One 200g tub of YOPLAIT Original Yoghurt Strawberry has more than seven teaspoons of sugar, more than 30% of the amount of sugar that an 8-year-old should reasonably eat in one day. On the upside, it provides around 39% of an 8-year-old's recommended dietary intake for calcium.
Yoghurts are an excellent source of calcium and protein, but depending which one you choose they can also have too much fat and sugar. It's OK for kids to have YOPLAIT Original Yoghurt Strawberry a couple of times a week but try to find a yoghurt that doesn't have so much sugar and add some fresh fruit to it.
